This is a very important question. Before I got an answer may you read that two headlines above. There I properly tried to tell you that what is a Royalty-free image and What is a Copyright-Free image. Actually, both Copyright-free and Royalty-free is not the same. But, When you pay a one-time fee to buy a Royalty Free image, that means that image is now copyright free for you. But this image is free only for you. Other people don't have the rights to use that image. And the Copyright-free images are already free images that you can use anywhere without paying any money.

Can I use royalty-free image as a logo?

It depends on what kind of Royalty Licence you have. If the owner gives you permission to use it as a logo, then you can. No! You must obey the copyright policy. The copyright policy is the same for all platforms including Social Media. If the image is protected by copyright, It means that you can't claim that the image is yours. and use it anywhere without permission.

So it will better to not upload any copyrighted image on Social media. But If you bought an Image and now you become an owner of the image then you can upload. But I again suggest you, check the License carefully, If the Copyright owner describes that "you can use the image in website or blog post but you can not upload in social media." Then it means that you can not upload the image on social media.

There are Five ways to verify an image and identify the copyright owner too.

1. Before downloading, Look the image, check the credit or contact details. You can also check the caption of the image, Maybe there the name of the copyright owner will be available.

2. You can check the Watermark of the image.

3. Check the image's metadata.

4. If you are not able to find any details then at the last step you can use Google Image Reverse Search. 

(Q: What is "Google Image Reverse Search"? Ans: When you search for an image on Google, You will see a camera icon on the search bar. Click on it and upload your image. after that google will scan your image and provide you the accurate result of the same image you uploaded as possible.)
